With many National Trust and other historic houses on our doorstep including Canons Ashby, Holdenby House, Kelmarsh Hall, Rockingham Castle and Ashby Manor House, the famous location for the gunpowder plot in 1605, we are ideally situated for those with an interest in the people and buildings of the past. There are miles and miles of countryside walks from the door, with plenty of opportunities to stop and re-fuel in the many picturesque villages you will encounter along the way, and the National Cycle Network is easily accessible too. Just a short drive away there is fantastic mountain biking at Cannock Chase, Woburn Sands Bike Park, Salcey Forest and the Northampton Urban Bike Park, which is opening soon.
