We bought Bay Tree Cottage in 2005 and spent the next two years living in a caravan while we lovingly renovated the house and transformed it into a beautiful family home. Since then, Bay Tree Cottage has been at the heart of family life, providing a home for us, our two boys, George and Alfie, a couple of dogs, several sheep and plenty of memorable family moments.
As landscape gardeners and horticulturists, we developed the gardens, established a productive vegetable plot and continue to care for our orchard and paddocks, planting a variety of native and fruit trees to enhance the surrounding countryside.
When the opportunity arose to purchase The Bottle Top, a Grade II Listed cottage adjacent to Bay Tree Cottage, another renovation project began. Following a careful restoration, The Bottle Top opened its doors as a holiday cottage in 2014.
A few years later, we embarked on our biggest project yet. After demolishing a number of pre-fabricated stables, work began on the development of Baker’s Den, Weavers and Foragers, which welcomed their first guests in 2017. The final phase of the development, Cedar Barn, was completed in 2021.
Today, Bay Tree Cottage has grown into a collection of five high-quality self-catering properties, accommodating up to 26 guests across the site. We welcome contractors, business travellers, families, couples and groups visiting Northamptonshire for work or leisure.
As a family-run business, we take great pride in providing comfortable, well-equipped accommodation and a warm, personal service. Whether you are staying for a few nights, celebrating a special occasion, travelling for business or working on a long-term project, our aim is to ensure that every guest enjoys a relaxing and memorable stay.
We feel incredibly fortunate to call Farthingstone home and love sharing this special corner of Northamptonshire with our guests.
We look forward to welcoming you to Bay Tree Cottage.
